What Moves the Price
The model and size set the starting point. Four details then decide where in the band your bag lands. Our Hermes price guide goes through each of them with worked figures.
Size
Smaller pays more on the icons. A Birkin 25 is worth more to us than a Birkin 40, and a Mini Kelly 20 more than a Kelly 35.
Leather
Togo and Epsom are the benchmark. Chevre and Barenia pay above them, canvas below. Crocodile or alligator is more than double the Togo figure in our model.
Colour
Noir, Gold and Etoupe always have buyers. Other classic tones price just below them and seasonal brights lower again, unless the bag is a special order.
Condition
Store fresh with the plastic still on the hardware is the top of the band. Corner wear, marks and a tired handle pull it down, but they do not stop a sale.
What Must Come With the Bag
We buy complete sets only. It is what lets us authenticate in about fifteen minutes and pay the same day, and it is why our bands are what they are. A complete set is:
- The bag itself, made in 2012 or later.
- The key, lock and clochette, on the models that come with them, such as the Birkin, Kelly, Bolide and Picotin Lock.
- The box.
- The original receipt. It proves the year and your ownership in one document.
On the day we also ask for photo ID and proof of address, on every purchase, without exception. If you are not sure of the year, our Hermes date stamp checker reads it from the letter stamped inside the bag.
What We Do Not Buy
We would rather tell you now than waste your afternoon. We do not buy:

| Incomplete sets | No receipt, no box or a missing key means we cannot authenticate and pay on the day, which is the whole point of selling to us. |
| Replicas | We never buy or value a copy, however good it looks. If a bag turns out to be one, the sale ends there. |
| Anything we cannot authenticate | If the stamps, stitching, hardware or paperwork do not add up, we decline at no cost to you rather than make a low offer on a bag we doubt. |

Who Buys Hermes Bags in the UK
Hermes itself does not buy bags back, so every UK seller ends up choosing one of four routes. The headline price is only half of it: what matters is what lands in your account, and when.
